Neale Emslie is a former sports editor and writer for the Herald, covering cricket, squash, tennis, hockey and rugby from 1983 to 2015. He won the Eastern region Vodacom Journalist of the Year award in the sports category in 2014. He is now a freelance writer, contracted to edit the schools sports pages of the Herald and Daily Dispatch.
